Depends on who you talk to , some say it is normal others not. But check for a leak?

One of your fuel pipes is leaking.

Pop the bonnet and look at all the pipes, the one leaking should have a brown stain around it, otherwise wet looking.

Otherwise tighten them all.

Cured mine.

Cheers Dave.

Check the ones under the plastic cover in the centre as well wink.gif These were leaking badly on mine.... some of the clamps can be very difficult to get to though frown.gif

CheerZ,

Andy

I've had a couple of leaks regularly from the small piece of pipe under the throttle pulleys (as above and a real job to change)

and also from under the fuel pressure regulator on top of the engine at top right.

Fuel vaporises when the engine is warm and so appears to go away after a few minutes.

To track it down try putting talc on all the fuel joints you can find on a cold engine then start it up. This shows em up a beauty.

My experience was the same as Andy Duff's. Remove the plastic cover over the centre of the engine and tighten all the clamps. Best to do this once a year as they do work their way loose after a while.

Ditto,

Mine seaped fuel on start up also from the small, but incredably difficult to change, hose under the plastic cover.

Changed hose - 5000 mls later still no leak.

Bigger injectors will not causes a fuel smell! LOL!

Yeah, got this on the Kirk at the moment, in fact had it since Billing...should sort it really! Can see mine clearly though, injector fuel line near the firewall is soaked. Should try tightening up the clips but how tight can you go before damaging them???
