Dudes anyone had this fitted yet or know anything re: The Zs limitations.

As some of you may know I have a full NOS kit on its way. It came off the 700hp Z I have mentioned in previous post. The guy was running 2 x 150 shot bottles on a Chevy motor. As he has removed these now, I have managed to buy one. My engine has only just been fully rebuilt with all new parts, to keep cost down I have used std Nissan parts. If I put this kit on my moto with say a 50jet. Will my new engine take it like a man or shrivel up and die.

If it will take it whats the largest safe'st jet I should use. I have 50-100 and 150

you will need two injectors for the kit to work on a zed, as there are two throttle bodies, if you use a single injector after the AFM, it will be w@nk.

The figure they quote for the jets is a "perfect" figure, ie, if you set the system up perfectly and the ambient temp was neither too hot or too cold for the NOS bottle, you use it before the heat from your engine has had a chance to effect it etc.

But going with that, if your TT is standard you will be running 280 - 300 BHP, the stock internals are supposedly good for 400ish, so you should be fine with up to 100 jets

Internals are standard, but I have 100hp of toys to fit

if the sum of the expected toys is more than 100bhp on top of the 300 the car is chucking out as standard then you want to consider uprating the internals and the clutch. Also if you are chucking NOS on there consider a controller, turbos spool up , NOS comes on in one hit!!

often wondered what you tell your insurers when you get the big red cannister fitted!?

Like Jock says, it's not just like an extra 100bhp - It's more like being kicked in the back by all 100 horses at the same time!

http://www.noswizard.com has all the information on nitrous you will ever need! The owner of the site is the guy who nitroused an old jag to race against supercars (shown on top gear). He knows everything you will need to know about nitrous! I dont know how much nitrous standard 300zx can take, but from what I have learnt in general turbo cars using say 50 bhp jets will output more than 50 bhp due to the cooling affect nitrous has on the turbo/s. I read that it can actually in some cases double the bhp, so 50 bhp jets could actually output 100bhp if set up correctly. So 100 bhp jets would be more like 200bhp (maybe a little less). Check out the site for more information though! Im sure there will be something on nitroused 300's for you to read. Hope this helps, cheers

Vinz has got Nos fitted. Anyone know what he thinks of it?

All part of the fun Jock. I will only be using it at the pod anyway so no chance of hitting a hedge

Well that's ok then - I just don't think it makes any sense for 'everyday' use.

I'd still like to know what happens to your insurance - they won't trust you to stay clear of the little button when you see some cheeky fooker trying it on!

:( You will really struggle with your insurance company It will Void your insurance as it's so much of a fire hazard. I have already got the NOS setup for my car when I disclosed it to my insurance company they refused cover, so be careful boys and girls if you do it technically you are doing it illegally, but I am sure there has to be an insurer that will cover you.

2 young boy racers recently died in their car local to us when they had a low speed crash, it was discovered after the crash didn't kill them it was their NOS bottle exploding that finished their game, a bit like having an accident with a big calor gas bottle onboard. :(

There are companies that will insure nitrous on street cars, but as far as i know these are only for Highpower Nitrous Systems not NOS (Holley), Adrian Flux being one of them. I have noticed that alot of people are waking up and realising that nitrous WONT blow engines if used and fitted correctly!!! As for being a fire hazard where did you read that to!? I have seen nitrous put out a fire on a motorbike before (will try and find the video!). Sure the bottles can explode if under high enough pressure, BUT they should all be fitted with safety blow off disks that will dump all your nitrous instead of blowing up the bottle. Too much fast and furious bullshit scenes, dont get me wrong they are good films but they have to make it interesting to sell even if its not what really happens. Just helping to get the facts right, dont want to put off people buying nitrous because of false information.
