Just spent a few hours on the Z, changing the fuel pipes, a bit of a polish, topping up fluids, replacing a bit of rubbber for silicon and while I was out there I decided to bypass the AIV. Or atleast I think that is what I have done. Please correct me otherwise.

John Dixon showed me how to do it on Saturday. Very easy proceedure. All you do is connect the NS FPR to the sticky out thing just on the right side of the plenum. Haven't been out in it yet but started her up and unless its my imagination, she seemed to idle a bit smoother than normal. Maybe it's all in my head but I will update tomorrow after having driven to work.

that's not your aiv, the AIV uses a solonoid near the small fuse box.

I think that's you PFPR or something, the one that helps fuel pressure when cold etc

I'm glad you know what it's called.

Cheers

Good, thats what I done after speaking to John too mate.

Cant honestly say I notice any difference but its safer incase that PFPR thingymabob fails.

I have to agree with you Jay - I didn't notice any difference on the way in to work either.

You won't unless it was broken. It's just one less thing to go wrong, and some space in the engine bay!
