underneath the dash on the passanger side, sort of behind the glove box is a round unit of about 6 inches and I think it goes through the firewall. It has a connector with 2 wires coming out of it. On the opposite side to the connector it has a small ribbed plastic tube coming out of it, but the other end is not connected to anything. Is this right?

Cheers

Hi Vijay,

Literally just been outside...its been pissing down with no remorse today, and had just stopped - so just dashed out with a mirror and a torch!

I've looked up the back of the intake filter where the pipe is connected, and seems to just stop at the top. Even in the Nissan manual it doesnt actually show the offending pipe.

Now, its my guess that the pipe is for getting rid of the carbon build up from the blower motor. By having the pipe in the actual intake, it would be constantly drawing the carbon particles out of the motor housing, which might otherwise cause premature failure of the motor.

Without taking the blower unit out, I guess I wont know. (It doesn't leave the cars interior though)

I hope this is of *some* help.

Simon.
