I think the standard front wheels on the Zed look naff because their an inch less wide than the rears and their set way too far into the wheel arches.

Anyone else agree ?

What i propose to do is get hold of a pair of rear wheels and put them on the front.

Is this advisable ?

Cant forsee any problems apart from rubbing inner wheel arch on full lock.

I think this would make the car look miles better.

Right lets clear this one up..........

SRRAE , I want to put some UK spec REAR wheels one the FRONT of my Z.

According to you my Z WILL tramline with the 245/45/16" tyres/REAR wheels fitted on the FRONT.

BUT if i put 225/45/or 50/16" tyres on those UK spec REAR wheels and then put them on the FRONT all should be OK........ UNLIKE THE LAST FEW POSTS IN THIS 'HEATED' DEBATE ! ! !   :nelson: :nelson:

Martin,

When i bought my Z, the gimps at the tyre place who replaced all the tyre's had put the rear wheels on the front with 225/50's and the fronts on the back with 245/45's (understand?). There was no noticable difference when i had them changed back to normal apart from the appearence.

So i personally don't think it would make any cifference to do the 225/50's on the rear wheels.

Please everyone this is my personal opinoin due to my experience so don't go at me hammer and tongues, all i am doing is answering Martins question.

Peace ;)

Rich:D

srrae to be honest mate you havent got a clue.

Tattoomans car handles like lightning, no rubbing at all and no problems with the spacers, and besides why have a go at someone about what their car should or shouldnt do when they obviously know it better that you cos it aint yours and YOU DONT DRIVE IT!!!

seems a bit petty to me tbh why dont you just agree to disagree ??

I always thought 245s would tramline on the front of a heavy Z.

But then the ground profile of 245s will depend on the width of the underlying wheel anyway...

...and the whole thing depends on driving style. If you don't load the front up on turn-in you won't notice tramline problems!

Handles great, I ran exactly the same set of wheels and tyres on my Skyline and that was fine too.
