Power/Hold switch

On my Jap import TT2+2 Auto I have a rocker switch with a "Power" and a "Hold option. The Power position lights a power light on the dash. However, I notice if I accelerate quickly, even without the rocker in the power position, the power light comes and stays on for some time.

 

What's this all about?

    The car will select power mode if you accelerate fast (uses the throttle position sensor and detects the speed of change).
