hi ive just had to change my cam belt n water pump but how on earth do u slacken the cam belt tensioner to put new timing belt on??? :bow:

In the pivot arm there is a threaded hole, get a 6mm bolt around 20mm ish long, and screw the bolt in, you will notice it start to compress and relieve the tension on the belt. I think there is a write up on twin turbo net on it mate

DONT COMPRESS IT USING THE BOLT! You will snap the bolt hole off the base plate, compress it in a vise s-l-o-w-l-y then do the bolt up!

No this is while on the car ;) Put the bolt in to hold the tensioner in place, then loosen the 3 12mm bolts holding the tensioner to the block... :) To get the new belt on you'll probably need to remove at least one of the bolts (left hand one) to move the tensioner enough out of the way....
