sounds like a pipes split or come off. You`ll have to have a route around.

cheerz,mickey

I had same symptoms as those you describe and it was nothing more than a simple pipe split......

PassBonnetCheck.JPG

These 2 area's are worth checking, they could be split on the underside and you can't see it!!

My trouble was with the one on the right as you look at the picture on the fuel dampner (I'm sure it's that side...LOL) and the pipe was split and hissing and caused the Z to run REALLY lumpy!!

Changed the old naff pipes all over the engine to Smithy's silicon hoses and have had no trouble since.....:) (fooking said it now!!) ;)

Hope this helps.....;)

I would advise you to contact Smithy and buy some silicon hose to replace all the old stuff that's under there, prevention is better than cure!! :)

Matty.

Had similar symptoms on mine, it was the

wires going to the injectors, try waggling them

(gently!!) see if it makes any difference, same

with the coil packs.....Just a thought!

UPDATE

just before i went to work i took the car around the block again with both windows down just to make sure and its definately an air leek, the hissing is pretty loud cos i can here it above my exhaust.

another thing iv noticed is its idleing realy bad, drops really low before searching and finally finding approx 700rpm, i can feel a lot more vibration thru whole car as well

i havent got a clue which hoses it could possibly be so i dont even know where to start

whats the best way of detecting which hose it is?

thanx guys

help me out guys cos i wanna try and get it sorted by this wknd so i can go to the midlands meet!

well i just had a snoop around the bay while im waiting for the experts to reply and i am honestly lost, it sounds as though the hissing could be coming from absolutely anywhere and all my pipes are black and look the same so i dont know whats what.

when pushing on those wires very slightly i can definately hear a hising sound coming from near the passenger side throttle body, when i rev the car (which am pretty sure isnt doing th engine too good) as the revs drop back down to idle there is a louder hissing noise coming from somewhere else in the bay

Did you take off the passanger side throttle body pipe to check if it's split on the underside???

Matty.

Hi mate. if you can get it to the leicester meeting point for the convoy for about 10:30 I'll have a look for you and see if we can sort it.

There's a small vac line that attaches under the main boost hose on the passenger throttle body - check thats on ok.

You *star* Mike :D I haven't :D

I photographed every little bit when I had it in pieces. It makes a great reference when you can't quite reach something or work out where something goes.

I obviously work on far too many of these pieces of shit  :D

Mike are your pics available for general viewing or do you have them hidden away?
