Personally i don't like em, poor grade stainless on the pipework, more creases on the bends than un ironed shirt, backboxes use a better quality stainless though so those ain't bad, but generally i would never have one.

smithy

Go to LONGLIFE they will fabricate any exhaust for you out of 416 stainless that doesn't rust at a reasonable price and you get a 25 year warranty. I had them make one for my Z and prior to that they made a system for my old Skyline, I cannot reccomend them highly enough, they're very helpful and have a few branches scattered around the UK.

power flow is a franchise so you cant tar them all with the same brush ,

my system has been custom made by Phill at west gate tyres and is

fantastic it sounds superb ( lovely burble to it ...) gauranteed for life

of the car and i get excellent performance from it

go for it Ken but as its a franchise ask people around your area if they

have dealt with that particular outlet ,

I agree wholly with Smithy. I had a powerflow fitted to my old Supra TT and it was VERY badly manufactured.

I have a Mongoose on my Z TT and it looks and sounds superb. Gives decent BHP gains too!! :D

Cheers

Bruiser

A mate had a Powerflow on his Cosworth, the exhaust wasn't to bad, but the Chimps that fitted it in Leicester didn't want to know when it kept blowing and slipping off the mount.

Personally i think there are alot better manufactured exhausts than these. Like Gworilla i have a Mongoose Cat back (and de-cat) and i'm very pleased with the quality, fittment and power gains, not to mention the noise

But it's up to you

Rich:D

I rest my case, the kind of feedback from the last few posts are exactly the reason why I did not use either of the 2 of our local branches of Powerflow. I only ever heard bad about them from numerous people that had work done by them, the one thing that I will say about them is they are very cheap, they quoted me over £250 less than Longlife did for my system. If it's £££££ that you are looking to save on then just remember guys that in this life you only get what you pay for !!!! :D

How big are those??? I like the lights too - I was thinking of painting my centre panel too, but I didn't want to screw around with the reverse/fog lights. What did you end up doing? I use the inner and outer lights as red rears and the centre ones as indicators. The reds look great at night.

CHARLES R, I did away with the standard fog lights and fitted a small brake light wired up as a fog light (Below Number Plate) All 3 lights either side are taillights and the outside ones are the indicaters. My reverse lights are still in the centre panel behind the translucent paintwork and illuminate up as "ZX" look carefully at the panel and you will see the letters. :D

Nice combo! I tried putting the indicators on the outside, but it made the car look quite thin at nighttime. Maybe next week I'll get bored and have a swap around. Endless posibilities! I like the fog light...

Hey Rob,

Not faraway from getting me a new system.

Just thought I would ask the clan first.

Not doing many miles now so did'nt what to splash out too much!

Ken :p

I phoned Longlife and the Leamington Powerflow fitter today. They both seemed helpful and to know what they were on about- Powerflow £450 from the cat back, Longlife £650. At the Longlife head office I spoke to a very severe sounding woman, but she seemed to know her exhausts, and cars, so I'd say they sound a good bet.

Both said they could tailor the exhaust to my specifications, noise etc- Longlife were proud of the steel they used, and the 25 year guarantee.

I'll phone Grasshopper and another place tomorrow.

Longlife are deffo always more expensive than Powerflow, where is the nearest branch of Longlife to you ? I know that they have a few offices around, the branch that I used was at Falfield half way between Birmingham and Bristol (Bit nearer Bristol)

Probably Walsall is nearest me. I have to say they do sound like the better of the two. My problem is an SWB, so without waiting a long time for a whole system, the custom made seems to be the only way to go. They seemed to be confident they could build it the way I wanted it, but I have to say the price Ken was offered sounds attractive, but again, if it's not such a good system then it's a false economy.

Well you said it all, if they can save £200 it certainly isn't on labour costs (unless they employ monkeys) - so the quality of the stainless is where they save the money.

end of chat!??

or is it that they are over charging heavily on there's!!??

I have a powerflow on mine and yes you probably can get better but for good value and if you get a decent fitter then you cant go wrong but you can get the most expensive exhaust in the world but if its fitted badly!!

My advice is go where you can get some decent feedback and you know people who have used them
