I had the tyre changed the other week and they jacked it up on the lip... I was going to ask them not to but it was half five and they were kind of doing me a favour as I had come in late. So I knew when it came off the jack it would be scraped...

 

So the unprotected jacks have pulled a bit of paint off the lip- what should I do to touch it in? Do I need to do it fairly quick?

 

Do I need to sand it down and then undercoat it or what? It's obviously on a part that's painted with the anti-stone chip rough paint so it doesn't matter about the finish, and it seems very rubbery and thick where it's come off. What should I do? Is this a different paint, or do I use the same type as the body?

make sure there is no dirt on it, and give it a quick go over with paint and a brush. Like you said you cant really tell because of the stone chip.

Is it a nissan colour? Should be able to get one from Nissan. Halfords may have something close to it. Other than than there must be a auto paint shop close to you. They can make you a small airsole car of it.

aerosol can. That sounds more like it. That will give a better finish won't it?

 

Is the stone-chip paint different? Does it not have laquer on it or something. The pit that had been gouged seemed to be very rubbery, not shiny at all. Sorry if this is a very thick question again.

The stone chip stuff is like a thick rubbery paint which you put on and then spray the coloured paint over it. If its right at the bottom of the car and hard to see and is a small area just paint over it, just make sure it is clean and dry. If you are really worred, get some rust protector from Halfords and paint over the area first and when that drys in an hour or so, put your touch up paint over it.
