Hi,

I have heard that uprated anti roll bars makes the Zed handle great, but in general, they give you better cornering but you lose the feeling of when the car is going to lose it!

Hi Mark,

From my own experience (in a TVR Tuscan S with uprated suspension - incl. anti roll bars) the car's cornering is a lot flatter indeed. The body roll is greatly reduced which in turn allow for increased adhesion by all four tyres (as the forces are more equally distributed). I did not find that the handling limit was suddenly upon me because "feel" was lost. It was actually quite to the contrary ... I could judge much better when the limit was reached and once I went beyond that point it was far easier to maintain the car's composure and not suddenly loose it. I'm not sure what the exact handling characteristics of our 14 year old Zeds will be under "normal" driving conditions versus my experience on a race track in the TVR. However, if you are going to upgrade the anti-roll bars then do both front and back so you don't introduce an imbalance in the setup.

Not sure if the above is of any help but my suggestion is that if you're looking for increased cornering performance whilst keeping the handling neutral then go for it and get some uprated anti-roll bars.

I'm actually looking into sourcing these (as a new product for DTA-Motorsport) so let me know if I can be of any assistance.

Cheers!

I found on my 205 they made it snatchy as hell, but they were Grp A items. Suppose like any suspension tweak it depends how well judged the settings are for road use.

It's on my list of things to do, but would like to get some feedback off someone who's done it on a Z first.

I have them on mine and I think they make a significant difference, much less body roll and generally a taut feel to the car.

Are yours the Stillen ones Andy?

I have the Stillen front and rear set up,and the rose jointed tension rods, handles very nice, big difference to my previous Zs,love the way it whips around roundabouts, :D

I would like the suspension techniques set up, once someone buys one of kidneys on ebay!!!!!!

TopLess, just as a matter of interest, does yours suffer more or less chassis flex due to lack of roof?

They came from Stillen, but I believe they're Suspension Techniques.

EERrrr that is a difficult one to answer, my previous car was a 2+2 tt, that had done 100K, the suspension had done more miles and this was a factor!

My convertable has only done 30k miles and it has lower suspension than stock zeds, plus all convertables are SWB's that were transformed into convertables in America. They had considerable reinforcement placed on the rear suspension area but to be truthful I have not noticed a great differnece between the Two!

Considering getting a set myself. Was very impressed with the results of fitting Whiteline antiroll bars to my S13.

I've whiteline ones on the S13, I would recommend, they are a good cheap mod.
