I thought I'd post up some pictures as I know how you guys like pictures

I removed the dial cluster from the car

Fitted Chrome Dial rings (available from Danny - DTA Motorsport)

I then fitted the Dials which were supplied by Vijay

Fitted it all back into the car

and tested out the colour changes and dimmer.

The only problem I had was getting the the needle of the two large dials though the small circle of the new dial face.

Also, yes, I did adjust my fuel needle, because it has always been reading a quarter of a tank low since I fitted my ali dial suround about 5 months ago.

Time taken:

Remove dial cluster from the car = 15 mins

fit new dials = 1 hour

fit cluster back into car = 15 mins

Vijay, thanks for the tips about reinforcing the back of the dials, I used the old dial to make a brace at the back and it's done the trick nicely ;).

Looks great Stu.

Did you use anything to keep the rings in place? One day I'll get round to doing mine!

Dave

The small ones fit nice and snug so nothing is needed. On the larger ones I use a couple of small strips off double sided tape on the inner edges and tucked it round the back of the dial surround to hold it in place. It's not visible at all.

Looks superb Stu, Nice one.

You got a silver fetish Stu? ;)

Looks great.

At least I know mine will look good too (same dials & rings) if I ever get them done.

Just out of curiosity - how did you adjust the dial without ruining it by pulling the spindle out of the inside? My speedo is 5mph too slow and I need to adjust it!

had to change my rev couner the other day because of that problem. if you get a pair of long nosed pliers you can hole the needle shaft and gently pop off the needle itself. the guy who'd previously changed my dial faces didn't do this so the rev counter used to stick. this tip was from luke at z centre. i also found that the ignition had to be on to set the needles up. hope this helps.
