anyone know how long a cheque is valid for?

    A cheque does not have a validity period. However, most banks will not honour them if over 6 months old.

    Hmmm well if a bank will not honour it past 6 months, surely it's only valid for 6 months then ? :confused:

    A cheque is a promise to pay someone for something. Theoretically it never runs out. However, why would anyone hold on to a cheque for longer than 6 months? That's why a bank won't generally accept them after this period.
