I always used budget car wash but I want to look after my 300!

Any idea what the best car wash and polishes are?

I thought AutoGlym but now maybe Zymol.

Zymol do a seal conditioner which I reckon could keep headlight, targa and other seals good.

Anyone know what the best stuff is?

I use Autoglym - their clear sealer is great too after you have polished it. I tried Zymol, seamed ok, nothing special.

The Halfords spray stuff in a yellow can, I think its called rubber and vinyl conditioner seams very good.

The AutoGlym clear Resin Sealer is fantastic- really gives a shine and is easy to apply. I don't think so much of the wax- is it just me or does it leave tiny white flecks on the car which are impossible to get rid of unless you use about three thousand clean cloths while you are waxing.

NEVER NEVER NEVER use 'easycut' !!! I was trying to get rid of some fairly minor scratches on my old car, and it left the paintwork cloudy and horrible.

The best Polish i have used is Zymol...........Where's Geoff to agree :)

The Zymol polish smells of coconut and bannana!

My girlfriend got a whiff and said she'd wash her hair in it!

In my younger days I worked as a car detailer in the US. Amongst the more mondain models we detailed a lot of super cars (I've worked on a (then) brand new Ferrari F40, several Porsche Turbos and the occasional early model Diablo) and we only ever used Zymol. I can not recommend this stuff highly enough and it is officially endorsed (in the US at least) by all of the top "Concour" events. Downside of the story is that Zymol products are outrageously expensive but more than worth it.

All IMHO of course...

Cheers!

I'm not knocking Zymol in any way at all .. TBH I have never used it so I can't comment on how good it really is. I have always used Autoglym products ...

I may give it a go sometime though .....

I like the Autoglym products too. (Especially as my mate who owns the local garage has a deal with them and doesn't charge me for the odd bottle  )

TurtleWax extreme is good stuff too, although for just washing the car good old fashioned (and cheap :D ) TurtleWax ZipWax wash came top in AutoExpress product tests - ahead of Autoglym and Zymol washes.

I do like the Zymol wax though and I bought some Carnuba wax at a show a couple of years ago which really brought up the shine on my black Supra.

Oh, don't use Mer on a black or other dark colour - it always leaves too much of a haze :nono:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
