:hyper: I was just wondering what the top speed is that people have had out of their zx's I met a bloke at Doncaster who told me he'd had 170mph and i was abit scepticle so couldn't resist trying my car on an open straight. I managed 173mph but had to slow down as an upcoming roundabout was rapidly getting closer! So what top speed have u had? :bow:

You can't get jailed for going that fast on a private test track.

Fastest someone's been done for is 158mph on a bike a few months back IIRC... he went down for 2 months and a 3 year ban I think.

 

Most of us.... err.... I mean anyone who would speed on public roads gets a ban and a fine if it's not too crazy. I don't half get some funny looks when I boot it up to 70, go flying past everything and then have to stay bang on the speed limit as the Lada's I past a minute ago slowly overtake me!!!

 

Got a 28 day ban last year, and somehow my insurance has gone DOWN this year when switching to a TT from a Vauxhall Calibra V6... no idea how, but I aint complaining!

Iv hit 150 when i first had the Zed but i had to back off as the car was feeling well unstable as the suspension set up was quite stiff and the car was hitting uneven surface and would suddenly feel very light as it would jump, at that speed it doesint look promising to survive if anything would happen. I would probably need a very smooth flat road to find out its Top speed!!! Any1 got a private air field by any chance :D

Have seen 165 quite a few times on my private test track - steady as a rock too, just need a longer airfield though.
