I was messing with Photoshop thinking of my first cosmetic mod.

Is there anyone who makes something like this? or should I try and make it myself?

The lights are bad enough without putting a cover on them IMHO;)

Heh, I've heard they are pretty dim. Anyone know a decent upgrade to the lights?

better bulbs?

You can put 100watt bulbs in but they dont last very long because they over heat. Longest I have had them last is 2 months. I tried 133watt too but they lasted less than a month. People have done a HID conversion but I have yet to see any results of it.

Stuart

Yeah there are loads of ways to improve the lights, I have read so many posts on here about diff techniques.....

They are really bad standard so the eyebrows really wouldnt work I dont think!

BazzaJG told me he had got some great bulbs from Demon Tweeks I think. Hopefully he'll spot this thread and give us more details.

Dave

i wouldnt advise covers on lights. i had some on mine though the were cool at first but then realised i could see anything when driving at night!!!!! when i had my MOT done this year they told me that the covers were blocking more than 30% of the light!!!!!!

there are many different designs for the headlight panels (panel between lights) toy should have a look around

good luck

The 300zx has a bit more class than a Fiesta with a bad boy bonnet. Come on, treat her with respect....

Max Power!

I put 100W bulbs in mine over a year and a half ago (did over 8k miles since) and they have not "popped" yet ... Of course having said that they will now die on me tonight ... The trick is to use the correct electrical lead with a high amperage (I used 27Amp electrical wire which is sufficient to charge a car battery) and solder it onto the bulb well. Shoddy soldering will significantly reduce the life of the bulb. Also, make sure the end of the lead makes good contact with a clean metal surface for a good earth connection.

lol Fiesta... bad boy, cant stand the bling bling cars :S never bought a copy of max power or revs or whatever in me life :S

Current drive is an untouched s14a, I'm just not particularly fond of 300zx front lights, just a tad 80's...

Dont like those circular headlamp cover things - they look cheap

Tbh, it would be the first of a few cosmetic mods, Paul Bailey style front bumper, De-spoiler & tailgate skin & nicer rear bumper with the six pot venom rear lights

Nice and subtle but still fairly individual :P

Another innocent Zed meets it end!

Each to their own m8, although if you don't like the look, I'm not sure why you bought it, the mock-ups that you've published are hideous and so Max Muppet.

You may not have bought the magazines so I guess you must hang around Maccy Ds with a digital camera. ;)

As I said, whatever you do, enjoy it.

Oh and how can it be subtle mods with new front, tailgate, rear bumper and lights?

HID make the lights about 20 Thousnd times brighter. You can actually see where your going. Don't waste your money on all the bulb upgrades and spots etc. Beleive me the money I've spent on bulbs alone would have got me the HID kit and there is just no comparison. Best £160.00 I've ever spent on my Z

Had them and not too bad but HID MUCH MUCH BETTER

Don't get so hot under the coller mate its his money and his taste. My view is the sh1ter his car looks the prittier mine appears. He'll grow out of it when he gets past puberty and has impressed a few of the girls at his school. :xxx:

eek nice friendly forum :/

btw im 33, married with Three kids and fairly good taste I like to think, after all I am buying a zed in the first place.

Constructive criticism would have been nice, not presumptious derisory comments.

Just because I'm not overly fond of one facet of the car doesn't mean I don't love the rest.

Jeez are you lot this abusive to regulars on the forum with more outlandish mods than what I'm suggesting? I mean I'm hardly talking about a veilside kit am I?

and a HID setup is the way I think I'll go.

Its called banter, just a bit of fun mate and if you leave yourself open to a bit of stick you'll get it. Nothing personal you just got to give it back. You should know that at your age. :slap: This is the best car forum in the UK and the people on it are a good bunch. Have a look at my car in rides and by end of next week I'll have pictures of the finished item posted. You'll see it's as radical as your talking about.

Apologies mate - we're not all rude tossers..

There was a group buy on HID kits recently and you may still be able to get some. You should really join the club to qualify for the deal though... HID GB

Good luck with the new car!

Please please do not do it lol, cant think of anything worse than a bad boy'd 300zx!

they dont look 80s to me, they look good, and suit the car!

I'm 35, married and love fast, different cars.

Sorry, didn't mean to come across as hostile.

I'll be constructive, IMHO it looks shite, but if that's what you want to do then do it, don't listen to the voices on here, it's a free world.

You asked - I replied.

Tim :D

Oh btw, I'm sure the Lambo guys are just so upset about how 80s the lights look on their Diabolos!

Good in it

Aye, I actually agree, wasn't sure about it, thats why I was askin'

Heh, typical jock thinking of the cheapskate route :slap:

I'm gonna save me shekels and get the SE Headlight conversion and a nice air ducting headlight panel :D
