I have a set of 17x7.5 Toora rims.

I currently have 235-45-17 tyres all round, but I really need wider tread on the rears, as my powerslide at 95mph in 4th gear in the wet last week highlighted!

What's the widest tyres I can safely fit on these rims?

Thanks guys

The 265/35/18 rear will be 1.79% larger than standard with a circumference of 2019.1mm. This will be 71.25mph at an indicated 60. In the end what you do is down to personal choice, as they are as near as you can get to the originals.

Personally I'd probably go with 40 on the front and 35 on the rear in your situation as that would mean they are both turning a liitle bit slower for the same speed.

Hope this helps,

This will give you an idea of things for Toyo T1-S tyres:

Most tyre manufacturers do similar charts - though you may need to search for them.
