Speaking to Luke, this seems to be very expensive to fit. I'm not sure what it is exactly. All I know is that you end up with a better spoilerless look than you do by filling up the spoiler holes.

Any ideas?

Ok, when you take the original spoiler off - this is what you'll be left with.

You will need to cover that mess up obviously and thats where the tailgate skin comes in. It has to be blended into the rest of the tailgate - hence the cost to fit. It will also add a small lip the the tailgate.

HTH.

What is it? A fiberglass panel? How big is it? And does blending involve body filler and sanding? Whereabout on the back does the blending have to be done?

Just trying to get my head around this. Thanks.

Can you post a picture when yours is finished?

Have you got a photo of yours finished?

Thanks,

Mooch

I went for the perspex panel and welded up the holes. It keeps the rounded look to the rear end.

Dont think that the skins have an opening for your break light.

Dont know if you can make it out from my sig but thats the back as it is now.

Chris..

Thanks Chris. How do you weld the holes closed?

Best to put a plate on from the bottom, weld it up and then fill from the top. Some reckon that indenting the holes first is the best way to get a quality finish. You need to be careful that you don't leave hollows for water to collect. In the end this can look a lot tidier than a skin, but there's probaly more work involved, so don't expect it to be much cheaper unless you can do the graft yourself
