Thinking of doing my own oil changes rather than driving all the way down to ******** each time.

Im sure Jeff uses magnatec but I could be wrong.

One of the local garages told me to only use fully synthetic 5/40

What do you guys use

ALWAYS use fully synthetic. Mineral oils carbonise on the turbo shaft due to the intense heat. Synthetic will just boil and will not leave carbon residue. It will also reduce carbon build up in the combustion chamber.

I have a feeling all modern engine oils are amazingly good.

I occasionally speak to one of Silkolelene UK's top technical guys and I'll ask him what he thinks is best (hmmm.. might be Silkolene though!).

We stripped a motorbike (CBR600) which had only had two oil changes in 40,000 odd miles and it was pretty much fine.

That said, I'd only want to put the right stuff in my Z.

I haven't helped much, have I?
