its not anywhere near as good as i originally thought, just dsnt look that great on the car, maybe cos th holes just look massive! makes car look shorter from side

car looks wicked!!!!! the work is emaculate. where did you get the kit from????

that looks mean as hell. do you have problems scooping up animals and children?

That's probably because it's subtly different to the original paintshop modified picture of the grey car. The top edge of the gap is a couple of inches higher and the support strakes (?) leading edge is straight, instead of curving inwards. Please excuse my primitive paintshop skills but my attachment shows what I mean. It's nothing that a good bodyshop couldn't sort for you when they fit it though !

Quite fancy a Z badge in the gap too, sort of like a Prancing Stallion....

konard i swear i have the same picture with the same background with the same colour car but different kit (i think it was strosek). anyway what company make the new bumper does it belong to a full kit or is it just a bumper.

Have to agree, the lower 'nose' looks a lot better - more agressive. I'm afraid your photos make the car look a bit unfinished and, although I like the ducts on the front of the rear arches, I think the arches themselves are a bit 'weak' looking 0 just not quite wide enough.

However,

The quality of finish looks superb and we all like different things. I'm glad you're happy with your car, which will certainly turn heads on any road! Thanks for posting the pics so quickly!

By the way - could you explain to me how I might get more like the look of the grey blue car you posted, with the low front 'nose line', using the viper front kit?? (I know it's a photoshop image - but that is the look I want!).

Incidentally, does anyone know what the rules are for stick on, or painted on front numbers?

Someone also mentioned 'not displaying a front number' is this legal?

just the piccy i was looking for konrad! its amazing how much difference a few tiny little changes make, i love th strosek bumber but dont like the viper one at all

check out the forum - loads mentioned!

Looks like its about to give a BJ

The one on the blue photoshop pic is too low isnt it? Looks good but would get hit all to hell i bet. Its also gonna collect alot of litter in that big mouth!

just tried luke's site....i believe some people have been having some problems with it!

anyway.....couldn`t see the bumper on his site maybe it needs updating.

last year i was a wide arch kit comprising of about 9 pieces....looked like a huge vent! anybody got any pics of it or no what i am talking about.

I`m getting some piece put on my car need to find a decent bodyshop...any suggestions!!!!! (been quoted about £3000 for spraying and fitting of a wide arch kit....not sure if that is a bit pricey)

also anybody have any more info on that bumper i would be grateful.

OMG - how much confusion ?

For those of you who haven't seen all of the threads about this new bumper perhaps I should explain; and apologies to all those who have !

Can't remember who found the original picture (the one of the grey car on my post a little further up the thread). There were mixed feelings about the bumper but a good number of members, me included, loved it. Nobody could find anyone that sold it, and then Mac noticed it was a modified Strosek front bumper. Someone else then found the original picture which proved that the 'new' bumper was, in fact, a mock-up done in Paintshop. That explains why there are 2 pictures that look much the same, but have different kits.

I still wanted the bumper real bad so I took the pictures up to Luke at the Zcentre (who hardly ever visits the forum). He also loved it; he'd been thinking of how to modify the bumper to bring the Z right up to date for a while & this was spot on.

He took a Strosek bumper & cut it about until he got it looking like the one in the picture. We took a couple of shots of it and then sent it off to the bodyshop to make a mold.

He also started work on modifying the OEM headlights to include indicators as there's nowhere on the new bumper to safely put them without making it look shite. The bumpers are now back from the molders, but as the lights are still a couple of weeks away the first finished Z is still to roll off Luke/Frank's production line. In the meantime Jaz has bought one of the bumpers and had it fitted elsewhere. His is the mighty fine looking yellow Z at the top of the thread - not my car.

As it seems the copy isn't exact my modified picture a little further up the thread is how it would look with a couple of minor mods, making the centre supports curve backwards and narrowing the intakes slightly by bringing the top of the bumper down a little lower. This just makes it look more like the original one - although it still looks great as it is.

The first one to get done at Frank's will be a metallic black one, and I reckon it'll suit dark cars better. Mine will be soon after, still in grey.

Mac's already posted the group buy cost of the bumper, and all of the other pieces of kit you might want are on Luke's website http://www.Zcentre.co.uk

You won't find the new bumper on there because he hasn't got one finished yet. I sent Luke the pictures of Jas's car today, but I doubt he'll put those on the site as the car was done at a different bodyshop, and it'll only be a couple of weeks until Luke's first one is done.

I don't know the price for fitting an entire bodykit with wide arches, but to give you a indication Frank charges £900 for a basic respray (ie where the colour isn't changing - or it is but you don't want the inside sprayed the same colour) and I think it's about £250-£300 to have bumpers or spoilers fitted, although the price varies from bumper to bumper depending on how difficult the type is to fit.

Can't think of any other questions to answer, and besides I've only got bleeding stubs left where my fingers used to be :D

I do hope this clears it up ;)

PPS mate, I wouldn't take my car anywhere else now

Had mine kitted there originally and had a small knock just before christmas and took it back there to get repaired and further mods done (it's only 350 miles each way :D ). Well worth the distance though.

Forgot to say check the traders section for contacts etc for PPS.

Very useful post Knorad, thanks.

I'd be pleased to discuss this with you a little - I'm dead keen to get this for my zed - but it would have to look more like the original photoshop picture for me. Any chance you could pm me a phone number so I could give you a call?

each to their own preferences...personally i think most kits out there make the 300 look like a 'Max power' car.. alsp dont like the normal wide arches, peter and i were discussing while at PPS, that these arches go much better with the actual shape of the car. The other ones jus look extremely over the top....

in my opinion theres only one bumper that looks half decent apart from the standard one and thats the 99' spec bumper...i had a scarab bumper b4 and that looked awful! Basically i didnt want the car to look as if its been 'kitted up' as they say but, i think, the scarab did portray that...

i do agree though that the bloody mouth on this thing it slightly more larger then i what i expected..even though i am very pleased with the overall look :hyper:

AND lastly the car was done at PPS....

jaz

It is beutifull man. All the line looks so smooth and all though I am not a fan of the fiat type rear end it certinally blends well with your creation.

God bless ya ;)

That's right Jaz each to their own, when Peter told me we have a pair of new wide arches that are going to be fitted to a Z,I was really excited and could not wait to see them.

However when I did am sorry to say I was very disappointed with them as they are not wide at all:(

I have now seen these fitted on two cars, and as much as I am a wide arch fan,I would rather leave them stock.

The most important thing is to go what you like and not what others think IMHO;)

Jaz,

I know your car was done at PPS, but did PPS also fit and spray the front bumper ?.

Just cusious becuase I was under the impression that Rich (touslecoq) was going to have the first Viper done by PPS.

Ok if we're all being brutally honest then I have to say that I don't like you'r rear arches as they don't follow the line of the car. I didn't like wide arches full stop until this front end came out. That again was because the whole thing didn't hang together. BUT NOW! Now that I've just paid a sh1t load of money to pritty my motor up they bring this bumper out. I've got ot say that before next christmas I'll be Vpered and Wide arsed, but I'll go for the Paul Bailey arches as I think they have the edge on the Strozeck. Not quite as round and a proper petrol filler cover.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the Paul Baily just a copy of the Strosek ?
