Currently i have:

2. HKS mushroom type filter (apparently very good)

3. oil cooler.

Hi RC

In view of recent threads, you may get more response by spending the first £20 on a subscription.......

That's the only advice I can give, I'm no expert on tuning

OK i have now payed my subscription....had a few problems with paypal but waiting for a confirmation....

now maybe i could get some sound advice..

Chris I had a look at your link....i have a profec turbo timer and boost controller but the bosst controller doesnt work (need someone to look at it) i am thinking of getting a better an more fancy one.

I was hoping for some add ons to my car that would show immediate changes in power hence i need some tips.

i was thinking of getting a JWT chip installed and decat down pipes. will this achieve my initial goal. anyother suggestions welcome.

chris i will get in touch with you for prices once i have an idea of what i need.

could some explain the stages so i can start to aim towards a stage I.

cheers

Ravi (subscribed but waiting for confirmation)

Stages are very loose levels of upgrade. People hardly follow them step by step.

Stage 1 is generall Induction/Exhaust Stage 2 is both. Stage 3 is ECU and boost increase.

But if you read one set of stages its different to others.

Decatting, will not give you more power persay, but will make the engine run easier as the exhaust flow is smoother. This means quicker revs and faster spool up for your turbos. However the extra back pressure can cause turbo seals to leak.

Do you know what clutch you have installed. A soon as you get to chipping your ECU and upping the boost, the power will increae by 60-80bhp over stock (Depending on other mods and boost pressure)

The stock clutch I heard is only good for 320-330bhp and will soon start to slip with the modifications you are thinking of.

Stuart

Clutch in an auto? LOL

IMO this is the order following on from what you already have:

1) ECU (most important if playing with the boost levels)

2) Boost increase (boost jets may come with ECU, otherwise use a boost controller)

3) Decat - WARNING: Turbo rear seal failure WILL be accelerated due to the lack of back pressure, coupled with increased boost accelerated even further.

4) Uprated Intercoolers

By this stage you will be reaching the maximum capacity of the stock injectors so after that you are looking at ££££££££££ ;)

One other point, FIRST mod to be done on ANY auto is to uprate the auto oil cooler (if not already done). Also if the box isn't in tip-top condition, don't expect it to last too long running high boost...

HTH

CheerZ,

Andy

In my experience a coat of red paint always increases the power. :smw:

thank....

i already have oil cooler installed.

i have ordered the ECU chip. do i get BOOST jets or boost controller or both!!!

worried about getting decat pipes due what you people have said about seal failure. anyway around the problem or should i not bother with the pipes.

cheers.
