Traction controll check this out

Apprently and according ot the United states supplier of racelogic traction controll,

the UK Version of TC is non-sequential and can damage an engine on a us spec 300zx????? lol never knew there were that many differences can anyone explain. below is the mail

"Thank you for your emails about the TC system. The UK system is simpler than

the US system as it is non-sequential, and we do therefore limit this to the

UK only, as it can damage an engine on a US spec car. I don't personally

know what price they are selling it for, but I will find out.

let's all move to USA...I'm pissed off with all the cut down version of stuff you get in Europe and UK!!!! damn it

That doesn't make sense. You can configure the system yourself. All the cut patterns etc. are in the version we have.

Strange init... oh well lucky i dident go for the group buy lol, you all have inferior systems to the Yanks, oh and apparentyl our engines arnt quit up to spec iether lol

I don't think Racelogic configure their system any differently for the U.S market.

I know the U.S distributor and spoke to him frequently when the traction control GB first kicked off.

Someone must be getting confused somewhere along the line.

The Uk version does cut sequentially. They are talking crap.

Any anyhow, it's either lose the engine or my neck. I'd rather loose the engine first

I think the scenario is this in the uk you cant get this system cheaper than racelogic itself in the states and that was the guys sales pitch to try and get them from not buying here lol

it sounds from most of the messages on here that the 300 does not have traction control as standard.... is this right, cause even at standstill if I put my foot to the floor the wheels dont break loose and as far as I know no one has fitted a system........haven't tried this on anything but tarmac though, and wouldn;t want to.

Hmmm, you must need heavier shoes or maybe wet roads. My Z is a real hoot on damp shiny roads -hence the RaceLogic traction control.

We did a group buy a while back and probably ordered about 10 systems from GPS (at an AMAZING deal it has to be said!)

OK, will have to play some more then ! havent tried in the wet while driving cause am f****** paranoid that I'm gonna stuff the thing if it breaks loose ! need to play on a track somehwere..... oh the joys of 3rd party insurance frown.gif

There is also a little secret about our TC systems: Although there are several prices there is only one system. So should you wish to connect up the clutch switch, then all you need to be able to do is read a wiring diagram and get in there. RL would charge extra for this, had they included it in the kit. Similarly, I believe that the Data Logging option is closer than you think - just a switch away ....

Hmmm, don't know about the effectiveness as not fitted mine yet...sorry...I mean Andy hasn't fitted mine yet! LOL! Why am I laughing? I will be cha wallah for the day and then pint provider that evening...well worth it.

Anyway, Z can be quite a handful if you're not careful...mine would regularly spin at round-a-bouts if you were trying to make a jump for it!

P.S. Mr. P! You are the electronics guru of Z land matey...he he he!

Clutch switch not much use to us auto boys though .... frown.gif

I would not know, mine does not work!

Get it fitted Timmy, made a huge difference to my performance. I can floor it around bends now which I would never have dared do before.

Did it myself over 2 evenings. It's a bit fiddly but not difficult - just lots of boring connections to make.

I have the perfect Traction Control system fitted to my car as standard.

Its called a Manual Gearbox.

Oeeer and am a heading for the coat rail again, yup got it...

Glen TT *manual*; for Traction Control reasons and to enable me to chuck the old manual/auto chestnut in before acquiring my coat again.

LMAO,

Glen

One thing to note about this traction control. It is set at 4 cylinders by default. You need to plug in a laptop and change this to 6 cylinders. I would imagine this would give the best "cut" pattern.

CheerZ for that AnderZ mate,

No wonder it's going round shagging V6's then...LMAO!

Not entirely true. I think RL set them individually, mine was setup correctly for my car - that's why they ask you what model it's for. However, the one I fitted to an MR2 Turbo seemed to have lost all it's settings and we had to do the lot manually.

I think Johnny sorted this out from the outset didn't he? Sure we had to provide what type of car we had...
