My hicas light comes on when I first start my car from cold. It seems to only happen in the mornings when it has been cold. Is it anything to worry about?

Cheers

nope mine does it as well me thinks it has something to do with the sensor in the power steering fluid pot taking a while to register that there is actually fluid there

Also try topping up the fluid slightly it sometimes sorts it out.

Are your revs unusually low on cold mornings?

I accidentally let the revs drop to about 500 or so once while nudging the car around my driveway and the HICAS light blinked on for a second. Maybe its related somehow?

While I remember, I read somewhere that the 300's suspension could be electronically switched to either sport or touring modes, or something? How is that done, if its true?

Raz,

I think you'll find that the sport/touring switch was only made available on the US models. Its next to the wing mirror adjustment switch. On the jap, euro models I believe there is an actuator on the rear suspension that makes it stiffer when accellerating hard to elleviate squatting. This is controlled by the ecu.

This happens on mine (1990 TT) It stops if I top up the power steering fluid to the top.

Nowt serious!
