Fuel Problems

Driving home from work this afternoon my zx tt started sounding as though it was'nt running on all cylinders checked under the bonnet and there was a strong smell of fuel opened the oil cap and it stinks of petrol any ideas on what it could be (ps thanks for the help on my hicas light problem sorted)

This should be simple :D I bet the fuel line to the fuel pressure regulator is leaking and dumping fuel onto the injector connector beneath it ;) Either that or on the fuel dampenenenener ;)

cheers i am taking her in on monday for a full service only had the car for a week the brakes are crap is this normal for a zx also when i turn the steering the pump makes a loud whining noise do you think the pump could be on the way out? thanks mellow yellow
