I really like the look of these and want to get some before billing, however I've seen the conversion done on peoples cars with the 99kit from the states, has any one got any direct side to side photos? I think I prefer the DIY jobs because they don't have the black lines on them.

Where is the kit available from?

I prefer the black strips! Anyway, you can get the kit on http://www.zxdriver.com

Hi Mike,

PM Rossy - he did a conversion with the original lights. Looks great too! Might save you a few bob if he's willing to divulge his trade secrets!

Good luck

Ch

Mike, I was looking at the diy and the real 99 spec lights recently on 2 Z's next to each other. And no offense to anyone who has done the diy job - cos it really is a good way of clearing them, BUT the real 99 spec's blow them away IMHO. Alot sharper and clearer. If the cost isn't an issue, I would buy 99 spec for definate.

well i've bought a set off of ebay for $48 which works out at around £27

I'll do the conversion for now and see about 99oem lights next year :) means I can put the money for the lights towards some shocks.

Dunno, I'm really happy with mine, and for the difference to go to 99 spec, can't justify the price TBH.

oops, I'll remove the reg plate later when I get home ;)

TBH I have to agree unless your gonna get a mag glass out there is not much difference well not that is worth and additional £200 anyway , Mike if your worried about the black line buy a black marker , will look the same bud

£27 and some of your time is excellent to clear your rears.

Here is a pic of mine before I fitted them.

Just look a little brighter and crisper to me. The red looks redder and the white looks whiter.

But you can't grumble for the DIY version and the cost.

are the US clusters the same as UK? i.e. striaght swap? no probs with indicator/fog/reverse?

Yep, the same. Fog and reverse are in the center panel (on my Jap). Don't know what you mean by that one? Uk fogs are on the rear bumper.

Yes the 99spec look crisper I've noticed, I don't particulary like the lines on them though, I don't know why they put them there:)

maybe some glass polish and a good scrub will bring mine looking up just as nice as yours james

sorry - im clue less!! How easy is the job ?

I think basically you put your lights in the over to heat them up, then remove the old gunk and lenses, then stick the new ones in.

Haven't done mine yet James. Will have a go this weekend I think.

so basically, is it just some diamand imprinted, clear sheet plastic, and instructions on how to split the lights in the pack?

Cause ive got loads of the clear, sheets of diamond imprinted plastic stuff!!!! Obviously you have to change to orange bulbs too
