Getting the dreaded blue smoke, hoping it's not turbo seals, seems to happen after a long run or when it's cold.

 

Can someone give me an idiots guide as to what filters/breathers etc to check, where they are and how to clean them to rule them out before I have to have a look at the turbo seals.

 

Presumably there's no way of telling if the turbo seals are gone without a horrid garage bill?

 

Car has done 55k miles by the way.

Its quite hard to say what the problem is. It could just be the PCV blocked and need replacing. Or it could be worse.

can I add that there is absolutely no degradation in power, it goes like absolute stink, in fact is running better than ever

hehe, ta, will print that out and have a poke around tomorrow, looks like a fiddly job to say the least...

You will have to order them though. I think Mr F. ordered some but I dont know if he has any left.

there not too bad really, make sure you get the hoses too, theres 2 additional hoses at the front too.

update, car is running very rough today, getting lots of blue smoke out of the passsenger tailpipe, some sort of metallic noise on idle too... :(
