Anyone know how where to lube or how to sort a sticky throttle. Every now and then you have to push acc pedal dreasonably firmly and hear a click before revs climb. also when changing gear at high speeds and high revs throttle seems to stick open for half a second making gear changes embarrissing

Mine isn't anything like that bad... but it is sticking, a bit, particularly when you back off - it doesn't quite close I don't think. I'm going to go for the old "take it apart, clean it, put it back together" strategy.

I'm sure I saw some stuff in the manwell about adjusting the throttle cable but I can't find it now. Anyone know the page number, or indeed the procedure?

clean out the throttle bodies and oil the joints. If its that bad though maybe the cable is past its best.

As long as its not TOO excessive - that sdoesnt seem too bad to be honest - Take the centre plate off the engine - the '300ZX' cover and set about cleaning all the joints, springs and put some oil in the wire cover. Then as suggested above clean the throttle bodies out as they get gunked up with oil and can affect the throttle if very badly built up.

that amount of slack looks allright to me, maybe a little bit too slack.

OK, that's encouraging, ta chaps. I can see into the throttle bodies with the large intake pipes off (obviously) and they don't look too bad, to be honest.

I'm definitely going to lube all the joints and moving parts which allow throttle control... the return springs are a nice shade of brown currently
