My central locking on my key thingy is not working!

C/L still works with key.

I have also noticed that when I set my alarm & c/l usually all my four indicators would flash once & doors would lock.

Now when I set alarm & c/l only passengers side indicators front & rear flash once & doors do not lock!

Where do I look, where are the fuses I need to look for, whats going on!

I hate electrics. At least you can hit mechanical things with a hammer!

Any ideas appreciated from my poor vague discription.

The door locking may be due to the extra servo motor in the drivers door, the rod that connects the servo to the locking rod may have come off, you need to take the drivers door card off to have a look.

Mine did something similar when the car battery was very low on power. Alarm would arm/disarm but with less flashy lights and no beepy sound but the central locking would only work on the key. Might be worth checking the condition of your battery.

Regards,

What alarm is it Clifford e.t.c.

I am getting exactly this problem with my standard Nissan alarm.

Not surprising I spose as it's 12 years old.

I'd go with Danny on this one. If the battery is low on charge it might not be able to cope with the demands being asked of it. Has the car been standing?

Hi thanx for reply's

Mine has a problem with the alarm as well. Toad AI600. cdl works on drivers but not passengers door! Any ideas? Door solenoid?

If you sit in the car and lock the drivers door from inside does the passanger door lock as well, if not check fuses if you haven't already if not a fuse I would say it is most properly the solenoid, which on the passanger side is an original nissan part not an add-on for the alarm.

Sorry to drag this one up again, but it highlights my problems.

1) Drivers door locked

2) Drivers lock disconnected (key spins lock thru 360 degress)

3) Internal and external handles seem disconnected

4) Entry possible thru pass door

5) Remote control makes clunking sound inside both doors, and I can see the the internal locking knobs attempting to move

What I need to find out, (having been told by my alarm engineer it's nothing to do with the alarm) is how do I open this door, so I can remove the door card and see what has gone wrong inside. Could it be this rod has disengaged??

Please help this is driving me up the wall.

I am not the right shape to be angling in and out of the car on the passenger side :D

Hi Simon,

Your problem appears to be the actual door lock, drivers side.

Have you tried opening the door from the inside with the door lever?

Just a thought, sorry if u already tried that!

Arthur

Have tried that Arthur. Both interior and exterior door handles move freely without opening the door. I can open the driver's window, but can see no way of getting the door card off to see if anything is manually disconnected.

Any ideas peeps,

Simon.
