Red Lever behind AutoBox Shifter

 

I have a 92 Jap Spec NA, any idea what the little red lever is behind the gearshift?

    the red lever is there so that you can move the gear lever on the auto box without your foot on the break or the keys in the egnition

     

    simply press the red lever down, along with the normal gear lever button and move into whatever gear you want. this is particularly useful if you want to get the stick out of the way while fitting stereos etc,
