I'm interested in exhaust system for my z but I hesitate in my choice.

Choice is restrictive for french car on the market (we have only TT 2+2) and many exhaust I find are dedicated to coupes!

I find Greedy SP and Apexi megaphone but I can't find any pictures of them mounting on a car. Do you have some pictures please?

Could you advice me on these items? Which is the best?

Thanks!

I know it's not the make that you are asking about, but I've just had supplied from Luke at the ZCentre, a Mongoose two pipe stainless steel system, for my 2+2 TT.

Nice sounding system, looks nice, with 2x 3inch(76mm) rolled-in tails per side. And should give you more torque as well.

Thanks Dave.

I'll take a look on Luke website.

Dave,

Exhausts look like well. Do you think it permit to pass the legal inspections? I'm afraid the noise should be very loud.

Mongoose isn't very loud at all, its a nice noise though, not to dominating but you know its there, if you know what i mean

Thanks.

In your opinion, Is the HP gain the same than with Greedy or Apexi?

Zyx,

I've got a Mongoose exhaust on mine and its great. Like Mike says, its a nice noise without being too in ya face, and it looks the part as well.

I pretend to work, they pretend to pay me!

Zxy,

I'll try to take a pic or two of my new mongoose tomorrow. As I've just got my digi-cam back from being mended, but the batteries are flat and its dark :p , will post on here tomorrow night.

Dave

Dave,

That's a great idea! I'm waiting for your pics!

I tried to contact Zcentre by e-mail but without success. Their price are very attractive and they seem to have a good look!

Stéphane.

Stéphane,

And no they arnt streaks in the colour, it wants washing :D

Dave

Dave,

I think that looks well on your car! Don't carry about the dust!

I never saw this colour in france. We have red (like toyota celica..) black, grew, and white. The Z is completly unknow in france!

Do you have improve hp with your exhausts?

stéphane.

You will get a slight increase in performance with a Mongoose or something like that.

Its not huge but should be enough for you to feel the difference.

Cant say that I have noticed much improvement in hp, but then I've not had the Z very long, and was unable to floor it due to the problem with the rear suspension.

Below is a pic of before, with standard;

and now :duffer:

Spot the differance??? :D

I got this one for a number of reasons;

1) I needed a new zorst

2) I wanted one to last, ie; a Stainless Steel one

3) I wanted one that would sound nice, but not be too noisey on long journeys

I think this is very good at meeting all those points :D

Hope all of this helps.

Dave

Stéphane,

To be honest, I'm no expert on zorsts. But looking at the site and reading about what they offer I see that only the back boxes are Stainless Steel everything else is 'aluminized steel ' whatever that is? **Edit** I've just been told by my collegue that it is a process, where aluminium powder is put onto the steel, and then heated up to a tempreture where the powder melts onto and covers the steel. Thus protecting it! Unless you already knew that. :D

The companies that they are using for the boxes are well established and of good quality, as far as i know.

The prices seem about right though.

Hope that is of help to you.

Dave

Dave,

Have you made some modification on your engine yet? Boost pressure...

Just run without an exhaust - think of the power gains from absolutely no restriction!;)

No, no mods as yet. And not likley to be either yet..................... am running out of money :(

Dave

Hmm, the wonderful world of Z ownership = no money!! :D :D

Still, only 2 weeks to pay day!

Nick

Try Predator, Herts. tel:01707 334050 - speak to gary - he owns a Nismo tweeked ZX. I had mine done there - look at my signature. Brilliant stuff. Its all custom built using high grade materials.

Hi,

How did you buy your Predator exhaust? That's full system or just mufflers?

Hi Dave,

I forget to ask you what kind of exhaust tips you choose, the 2" or 2.25" for Mangoose?

I will buy the same.

Have a good day.

Stéphane.

Thanks!
