Top Pod Size - Vinz????

Hey Vinz,

could you let me know how big the pod is from top to bottom, I'm wondering if I could get a Greddy Boost Controller into the gap - see picture below....

Nigel,

I looked at this when I was working on Vinz's car and I'm sure the profec won't fit - it's a pretty big screen.

110mm wide by 90mm tall

Chris is that the pod opening, cause it looks as if there's quite a deep reveal to the pod I was thinking of modifying to fit the screen.

Any thoughts John, might that be possible - or do I just have to buy a pod and try it?

No mate thats the profec screen size :)

Thanks Chris, still looks to me as if the pod could be modified to make a reasonably tidy job of it, but I'll keep you posted on my progress.

Anyone out there with a pod care to comment??

I was thinking about getting one of these pods to put my AVCR &SAFC in.

Who sells 'em?

I am after one of these as well thats made for a right hand drive car, with the gauges facing the driver. Any ideas where I can get one and the cost?

Cheers

Depends, I'm going to make sure I get one before I reveal my source - if it's all the same to you boys!

Blimey Nigel - your always quick to ask other people for information, and now you wont share the love? Why I'm almost tempted to call you a tw@t, you tw@t :slap: :mac1: :slap:

It's just that I know where there's one!

Nothing personal. y'know!, but it took me ages to track one down and I don't want to go through all that again!

Fine if ur gonna be like that then I won't tell you MY suggestion :p :D

Tell me!!

In fact PM the entire forum bar Nigel :D

YGPM adam :D

Andy, i wouldn't mind knowing you suggestion 2! I have been after one of these pods for ages now

YGPM too but don't tell Nigel :D

Lmfao!!

What did I do?

or is this Adam's Gay mates conspiring to wind me up!?

I'm certainly not going to propose to you on the 29th Feb now you puff!

:D:D:D

OK, pod not big enough for what I want, see separate thread.

Adam - you've got Pmail if you want to but a standard pod.

Andy - still interested to hear your suggestion - I hear you know abit about the Profecs???

Ok then, time to share I s'pose :D

Idea involves using the location of the vent in the drivers door - although this will require a little butchering. I have a spare door card I'm gonna have a go with soon. Who needs the drivers door vent eh? :D

Andy, only problem I can think of is that the cables joining the screen to the centre unit are a bit flimsy so you might have a job getting them through the rubber tube thing between the door and the body.

Also, the cable to the remote is quite short so you'll have to mount it on the door too. The centre unit will then need to be in the RHS of the car and the cables to the ECU ran across.

Or you could cut/shut all the looms and ignore me totally :D

Have to say - I like a bit of fresh air from the door vent too. But I might have another look at the door just in case.

For those interested in a pod, there is a possible supplier willing to make me a special over sized one for the Profec e-01. Price is £70+3 (postage). I'm not sure if they can still do the standard size ones, but for the record, they used to cost £55+3.

I don't intend to get involved as a middle man here (so moderators please note!) - but I will give details to anyone who PMs
