Norton Antivirus subscription

My Antivius subscription ended at the end of November and I ended up buying a brand new copy of Norton Antivirus 2004. The problem I have is it will not let me update the virus definitions as it says my subsciption ended 11/03 even though it can see my new latest version. Can anyone help me on deleting the old version completely (I've deleted the program files etc).

    Have you unistalled it with the norton unistall wizard. Some programs will only be removed with their own unistall.

    Try removing the c:\program files\symantec directory as well. This is not removed by the uninstall program. Also, uninstall LiveUpdate...
