Hi all,

Ive been trying to find out what options were available on zx's, i.e. I believe Cruise control isnt standard across the board?

Perhaps might be easier to list what the base model hasnt got?

I want to make sure that I get the best zx that i can for my money.

TIA

Adam

There where very few options I belive, even fewer on the UK spec and the UK basically got nearly the highest spec anyway.

It is hard to say what was the orignial spec as the spec changed through out the years.

Cruise control and HICAS is a Twin Turbo thing only and came as standard. They didnt come on the NA and I dont think was an option either.

Do they all come with leather interior? what about airbags?

Cloth or leather, airbags on the later ones I would guess.

Series one to series two makes some difference, cloth is different, better I think, 2 electric seats, PTU (?) is better, heater fan changes and probably other things but I am not up on this stuff. But a S2 has to be better becasue I have one. And I am selling to buy a Skyline, well thats the plan today.

Actullay I have a Jap import 1991 TT, which has all the switches for cruise control, but no cruise control under the bonnet. I guess it could have been taken out for precious weight savings, but I was told that it would cost an arm and a leg to replace it.

Iv got a 1990 manual jap import TT and it dont have no cruise control.

My import NA has cruise control.

Series 2 was 1992 onwards, options included heated seats (great in this weather:))

Leather was only standard on the UK model.

I've got cruise control!!!! bababa!!! But I hardly use it - it's boring - especially on a auto box.lol.

Geoff.

mines na import and it has cruise control to.

Get on decent bit of clear road set it at 90, Brake to disengage it, slow right down like you would for some dual carriageway lights. Get to about 30, select resume and see how long you can hold on before you go for the brake. This is extremely childish and only to be tried on a clear road but its weirdly exciting having the car get on full boost trying to get back to 90 asap while you are just steering it. If you tell your passenger the throttles stuck wide open and let them see your foot is off the gas they tend not to take it too well:0

Course you cant do this with a manwell

Talk to AndyZ I am sure he might be able to help you get something?

Have you got series two or one cruise control?

Right I must try that!

Cruise control nightmares - best so far has been dialing in 40 in a moving traffic queue, we all accelerate past 40, then upto 50 and then all start to slow down by taking foot off the accelrator. Apart from me - when the queue hits 40 and slows to 39, I'm still doing 40 - now that was exciting! I've got cruise - I'll swap it for a an induction filter....

My car is a 1992 Import, but were there any series 1's shipped in the early part of the year? How can you tell a series 1 from a series 2 ? (na import auto)

Thanks

John

mines an Aug92 series 2. Wasnt the suede stuff on the bottom half of the dash and doors one of the changes?

Try again!

I ave a UK TT 91 & I dont ave leather!

I thought leather was an extra could be wrong though.

All UK cars were TT and had leather, sounds like an owner swapped it!

Agree with Arthur. My '93 UK TT didn't have leather or leccy/heated seats (leather was added by the dealer before it was sold to me).

Yeah leather was a dealer option (around £1500).

The suede on the bottom of the doors was one of the changes for series 2. As was the revised aircon controls and a passenger-side precat.

Dave

Mine is a 94 UK TT series 2 with leather, cruise, HICAS, heated seats and electric door mirrors. I believe the only option available was traction control which mine doesn't have.

Resume accleration does work on the manual but obviously going from 40 to 90 in 5th does take a little longer :-)

hi all

i thought the options were

elec passenger seat

heated seats

in-dash cd player

mines a 93 uk tt manual with leather(all the old test reports say leather as standard on uk model)and all of the above

cruise control was an option on series1(standard after)

also headlight wash standard uk (option jap)

been looking at buying a 94 uk tt and the heater controls are totally different to 93 model which is different to series 1

---neil---

also thought that electric fold door mirrors was an option. my 90 jap t/t's got it (plus leather, cruise control)but several i tried didn't.

cheers
