well his transmission wont last long then!!!
whats the point of having a 300+ bhp car, then driving it like a granny
what a load of tosh when you put your foot down in an auto (to the floor) it will not change gear untill red line in every gear , how many Manwells leave the gear change untill the red line :p ;) not many I bet

You aint seen me trying to keep up then :D:D:D

Don't matter if it's auto or manual as long as it's a 300ZX !! You'll still DESTROY the likes of Boxters, Audi TT's and any spotty fackwits in kitted shopping trolleys!!! :xxx:  :p

just because we dont stand on the brakes till 3000rpm and then let go doesnt mean we drive like grannies, but we dont trash our cars out of stupidity.

Me, I like the horrendous fuel bills.

you would not get me doing that to my auto box and I am pretty sure that no body else would be stupid enough to do that either , if you LEARN to drive the auto PROPERLY then it will easily be a good as a manwell WITHOUT trashing it either , the Auto in good condition will take as much if not more grief than a manwell box IMHO

There is no answer to this question.

It is personal preference.

Fun though arguing about it........I have an auto and if that blew up I would go manual. Thing is, the Z isn't a sports car, its a GT so I do think an auto box has its place. The general thoughts on autos is that they are slow, grandad style things.....I thought that, till I drove an auto Z. You can't compare them to other auto's. And if you are comparing it to Grandad's Granada then you will be surprised.

And in a hedge!!!

I LOVE my auto, does everything I want and expect, when I want it. Had to LEARN to drive it though, to get the best out of it.

The only manual I'd want to drive would have to have a nice ally shift gate, and a prancing horse or raging bull on the front. :hyper:

Think you have hit the nail on the head you have to learn to drive an auto PROPERLY
I have no complaints - I think its a cracking box.

And they say that cars aren't female!! :hyper: :D

We all know how to drive manuals perfectly well, but I bet half the manual drivers dont know how to drive autos ;)

Therefore auto = better.

There's some rubbish for ya Mr Evans

Well, I half agree, except half the manual drivers out there can't drive manuals OR autos.

You could say a poor driver is better in an auto than a manual, but a good driver will be better in a manual than an auto. It's all about where the best gearbox management is... under the passenger footwell or above the passenger's spinal column!

Ooooooh no it isnt!

Ah panto dame as well as hairdresser then? :mac1:

SO what are we talking? A brazilian? Smooth? Jeeves fetch my weedwacker!

Just redd this thread , quite funny,

two things i noticed,

Zevans talks the most sense,

James300 your Z looks gorjuss.

BTW i have an auto and a manual,

love the auto, not as quick to 20 as a manual but after that great fun,

especially kickdown when overtaking,

as for the manual, well its great too but quite hard to read as some of the

pages are in japanese. hehehe

Yeah least I can change into what gear I want

Pages and pages of posts of

"My Auto wont go into 2nd"

"I only have 1 gear"

"My autobox is broken"

"How much for a auto rebuild?"

"How do you do a Auto manual conversion"

"This is the 2nd box in 2 years"

"Im in gear but have no power"

manual gearboxes and black cars are best. :)
