Bulbs again

Anyone using or tried Ring Xenon Plus bulbs for dipped beam? Looking at ad they claim 30% brighter.

Just brought some PIAA platinum white for £48 but realised now I'm home they have given me H1 types again not the H3's needed (all motor factors seem to get this wrong). Might trade them in for the RING type if they are any good as they're only £15.

Can't aford time to take & send headlights away for the upgared at the moment.

Hi Alex

According to tests, the ring bulbs are 5hite. (auto express tests)

You are better off with Osram or Phillips +30% H3s (Phillips won the tests)

Get them post free (for £14 a pair from:

They are as good as PIAAs for a fraction of the cost.

If you can't get a refund on the PIAA H1s, stick them in your main beam. They are bl00dy expensive, though. I have a pair of PIAA H3s which are good, but I bought Osrams to try coz they were cheap. I put them in and they were just as good as PIAAs at a third if the cost. I left them in and the PIAAs are still in their box.......

HTH Richard :)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
