Good venue, lots of people there.........

.......I did what usually seem to do........go, look round, speak to a few people then leave (I wasn't going on the RR).........

Rich, hope you get that fuel leak sorted.....

Smithy, hope everything gets sorted.....

Pete, sorry mate I forgot the ALC and also didn't mean to step on your toes (grounding!!) :(

I saw a quite few faces from Billing that I remembered but I didn't say hello, I was too cold to stay too long (I need to buy a new thick winter jacket!! LOL)

Rich, I'm now officially addicted to 'Need For Speed - Underground' so much so I'm not going the match now...... :p It's too cold anyway.......

Well THOR looked a good venue and they knew their stuff, I will never have my Z dyno'd, I was nervous watching it being used on other peoples Z's nevermind my own!! (that's just me!)

I did take my camera but never took an pictures, until I was on the way home.......I should have took more......I did want to take one of the Red Audi TT I cruised past at 140mph and he proper went for it to, I didn't......

I got back about 30 mins ago. Good set up they have at THOR, I was impressed with the dyno system, its just a pitty to took so long to do 1 car. :(

I have a few vids but I dont know how they will come out as I couldnt fit much of the car in the shot at once. But the sound should be good, not that the sound detonation is very nice :(.

I didnt take any pictures either as a pic of a car with its wheels off isnt that interesting LOL:lol:

Got a few pics of a nice Porsche 911 GT2. Very nice looking car. :D

Also saw a Z just after leaving THOR and I dont think it was part of the party.

We are going to have to find a way to recognise people. There where probably loads of people there who I spoke to online but didnt know their face.

Either way nice to meet the ones I did talk to. ;)

So what was the biggest bhp figure?

So what was the biggest bhp figure?

and why were people detting? lack of cooling or trying to run too much boost? A Dyno run should not be much different to a hard run in 4th on the motorway...

I tell you why LOL.....................................

Far too many people just think that you can have a chip and boost upgrade done and everything works just fine

Figures please! I need to take the piss!

LOL, I would second that bud!

If I had a pound for every Zed that has gone bang on a dyno...I'd have...err more than three squid I reckon.

I'm with you on that Mac, but that means these guys are probably detting on the road too, that's why I said about running too much boost when the car's not set up for it. Roll on the figures and graphs ;)

Well, had to discontinue the test on my car due to (as Jaffa said) detting...despite the boost being dropped RIGHT down it was still running too lean to safely continue. Could be either, or a combination of, two things: changed the FPR the other day which may need double checking but also replaced the JWT chip with another last night and looks like it needs a bit of remapping to get some more fuel in. But TBH today helped make up my mind to go for 555's sooner rather than later then take her back down to Thor when it's all sorted for a re-run (I'm lucky as I only live 15mins away). Despite having to leave early, was great to see everyone...though got to send my apologies to Chris as I completely forgot to pick up the grounding kit! Bugger!

 I bet they've never seen so many zeds on one garage forecourt with their bonnets up!!!!

stu - how much oil did you put in :slap:

Regards,

alex

I heard it was about 3.5 litres! GULP!

surely not   :p

However Stu may have secretly been doing an advertisement for that super lube stuff they sell on Sky shopping channels where they drive a viper and a Hyundai sh1t box around in the Nevada desert with negat oil in! LMFAO Just to prove that you can. :)

If I knew, I had a bottle of RS10-60 in the boot ;)

You should always take oil to one of these. :D

Yeah, was a good day and impressive kit.

RR Operator was genuinely knowlegable and helpful too.

Shows the benefit of setting up boost controller on the RR though, with the extra time for the turbos to spool at a given speed, it's easy to boost more at low revs than you ever see on the road.

Pretty chuffed with 358bhp/366ft/ib though.

Yeah good figure John, nice one.

361 hp at 0.9 bar because my turbos aint going any higher at the moment - anybody knowledgable who saw the run - any bright ideas - in fact any ideas at all. I get some weird surging at about 0.8 - 0.9 and thats it - no higher, even with the wastegate controls diconnected. I'm running really rich at the moment so loads of hp to play with if i can get more air into the engine.

Regards,

alex

Hi Guys

Nice to see a good turn out and i think everyone was happy with the guys at thor, apart from ajay who broke the machine!! only joking.

Alot of people were detting and the guy at thor made a comment on how many were not set up right with the fueling, the ones that were running correct fueling were fine.

I would deffo go back there, in fact when my cars done i'm getting them to do my mapping and setup for me.

I think CJ got top just with just over 360 bhp at the wheels with stu and john just behind with 350 ish.

Good day out just cant wait to get my car on the rollers!!

Mike

Oh well, good to see that the day was mostly a success. RR we went to for the SE open day was pretty good aswell.

Great day and very good setup at Thor! I returned 291BHP and 314ft/lb at 14.6PSI. No detonation, just lots of smoke (rear oil seals) and lots of squealing (alternator belt adjuster is missing  )

Nice to meet everyone... I missed Matty and SRRAE though - D'oh!

Are these at the hub figures that you are all quoting?

Twas a good day even thou my car was running like a big bag of $hit, great to meet everyone.

Thanks Mr Shrimp & Friday (+ mate) for the use of your tools, the fuel leak is now sorted.

Now all ive gotta do is make it run properly.

Still love the Zed thou.

See whoever is going to the pod tomorrow.

Rich ;)

All the figures were at the wheels, they didnt give any at the flywheel
