Hello,

Hope you don't mind, but ...

Couldn't help noticing you were looking at a modded Z in Folkestone .. I'm just up the road (just south of Maidstone) and am selling my own 91/H manual 300 for considerably less ....

If you fancy checking out the details, here's a link: My Z for sale

The price is somewhat negotiable btw .. Let me know if you wanna take a butcher's!!

CheerZ,

John.

BTW, you can get me on 07801664938

Front end isn't Veilside. Back, sides and spoiler look like Veilside tho.

nearly 10k no leathers

steve

me personally - no way!!!! I would buy a standard one in perfect nick and then mod it to my taste. £9695 is way, way too much in my opinion.

Matt,

Not sure how much I can add to this, but it does look like a nice one ..

Of course, the mileage is way low, and that does seem to be a priority from what you told me, although you still need to check the relevant maintenance has been done, and given the overall age of the car, make sure that the cam-belt has been changed - even though this isn't normally due until 60000.

Can't really tell much more from here! :D The sideskirts and rear bumper/spoiler are deffo Veilside C1 (same as mine ;)) .. don't know about the front, can't tell you any more about that, although I'm sure someone else will be able to make a positive ID! :D

Best things to go take a look .. it does seem expensive, after all, 31k isn't *that* uncommon on an import; and as Steve rightly points out, you'd expect leather for that kind of dough. I guess the only thing to do is to go take a look and make an objective decision. After all, you're right to point out that kitting and painting are going to make a 5k car expensive (even if you do find a good low mileage example).. but that paint needs to be as good in the flesh as it looks in the picture, otherwise, you're going to want to get it re-painted, already negating some of the add-on advantage.

Also, if there's an aftermarket induction kit fitted, I'd want to know a little more about any other mods that have been done, like ECU, boost upgade etc, etc .. If it's got an aftermarket boost gauge, then it's likely to have been upped; although this is no guarantee.

Look forward to hear what she's like in the flesh - but remember, mileage isn't the be and end all with these cars! ;).

Deon,

can you send me some pics and details on email mate...mine is Mattarge@aol.com

I take it you have kmh clocks not mph..

No way 10K! I know it's claiming low miles but I wouldn't even think about paying that much green bud.

Yes 10K is too much, car not to my taste anyway looks like a Z mated with a louvre door factory.

Come on Guys someone must know where i can get one from, TT, man, good nick and low'ish milage......if modded i dont mind saves me doing it..

Watch the For Sale section here, Autotrader and eBay. There are some very nice looking manuals going though all the time.

IMHO and FWIW (not much) there are some basic mods that everyone will do, but then you want something of your own and to build and tune upon a solid known base. This is probably why you never get anywhere near the cost of your mods back. If you like the car and it drives well then offer them £7.5k or £8k for it. Otherwise get one of the good ones here for £6K and then start to build the car you want.

The best advice someone gave me when I was looking to buy my Zed was to go for a completely stock model, do all the servicing on it (ie, cambelt, ancillary belts, water pump, thermostat, oil change, brake fluid change, brake pads change, airfilter change, fuel filter change, spark plugs, etc). Make sure the car runs absolutely spot on and only then start modding it. It is absolutley imparative that it runs well first otherwise you'll be looking at massive repair bills in the long run. Besides, if you get a modded one how will you know it has been treated right and not caned the t*ts off ... (but the same can be said about a stock one although the chances are significantly less).

Also, don't buy the first one you see (as you've now found out) - I saw and tried out at least 18 Zeds before settling on the one I have now. It may take months to find the right one but in the end it will be worth it ... trust me.

Good luck hunting!
