Evening All

Just took my tt for it's MOT this afternoon, and found one of the fuel tank mounting straps had corroded through. I have ordered two new ones to replace them both. I see the bolt at the front of the strap is quite well tucked away - has anyone else done this job, and if so did you need to remove the rear wheel steering rack, or worse, the diff. to get at the bolt head? Hope not! :-(

Cheers

I removed the petrol tank from my car by those straps. I only removed the strap from the back of the car and didnt touch the strap more to the inside. But I dont remember thinking anything had to be taken off. Maybe the heat sheild has to come off first to make things easier, but its only held on by 4 bolts.

I am sure the back bolts are very easy to get too. You just need a long extention for your ratchet.

Ok, thanks for that. I'd do it myself but I don't have access to a pit or lifter anymore. Maybe I'll buy a socket extension for the dealership that's gonna do it for me!

I would get a dealer to do it. They are *******s to get back in the right position. :(
