I have been having problems recently with a lumpy tick over, and a misfire at high revs. My car seems to not like been left too long without being driven. I got in after xmas and the tickover was lumpier than Nora Battys cellulite. After a few days though it was running fairly nice with a few dips everynow and then. I thought I had resolved this when I cleaned loads of green gunk out of the contacts on top of each cylinder. At the same time as all this was going on I noticed that when I hoofed it at the top of the rev range it would sort of misfire, not banging as such more of a dull thud at machine gun rate. So I cleaned out the greenstuff and the tickover is now sorted, but the misfire is still there. Its weird as the car is totally smooth up until the last third of the throttle travel. At which point it feels like its losing power is very lumpy. I'm hoping its going to be something stupid like crappy spark plugs.
Any ideas? Anyone?
Cheers
Rod
