Hello All

Doing a Auto to Manual G/box swop and I'm a little concerned as how I'm going to get this bush out of the crank, I've read what others have done and I just can't bring myself to whacking it with a large hammer.

Has anybody out there found a successful way of getting these out without resorting to the mighty hammer?.

Cheers

Steve

It's best to remove it with a special bushing puller, hammer-like tool.

It is especially for removing bearings and bushings like this.

It is available in most mechanical workshops, so maybe you can borrow one ? (since these pullers are quite expensive)

it looks like this:

Hammer it is LOL.

fill the hole with grease, get a bar which is a close fit on the bush and twat it with a hammer and the grease pushes the bush out. :)

Slide Hammer!!!! works a treat for both Manual and Auto bushes!:D

Cheers guys I'll try the grease first, if that doesn't do it then out comes the big one (hammer that is).

LOL I had a nightmare with one of these too! Ended up drilling round it to weaken it then used an air hammer to break it up, then it just fell out :D Took about 30mins doing it that way... Just be carefull you don't drill through the bushing and into the crank LOL
