You just use the handbrake wire.

Leaving it in drive with the turbo timer on would be very silly.

Do you always leave it in drive and jump out of the car with the engine running?!!?

It comes off the bottom of the gear stick (oops, was stating the obvious there!!;) )

Hang on a mo, ive got a pic of mine with its knob off, ill go find it!

cheers guys,

chris i know what u mean, it makes good sense but have to say its not the first time ive left it in drive and stepped out !!

b19rks if its an easy job then i'll do it but if its gonna be a ball ache then i'll leave it be and hope i dont leave it drive again LOL!!!

Shouldnt be too difficult id of thought, all you need to do is splice the shift lock wire, and theres only a couple of wires in there i think, one for the o/d and the other for the shift lock.

I would do it if i were you, as it not only stops you leaving it in drive it also stops the car running away if you leave a passenger in it and they knock it into drive, as if any gear is selected it cuts the engine.

As for the leaving it in drive and getting out, you cant do it can you? cos you cant get the keys out!!!!
