How difficult is it to change them? Cylinder 4 is really getting on my wick now!

Hmmmm, know what you mean!! I've got a lazy tappet... Sometimes ticks, sometimes doesn't...!!

The whole kit comes to $338.63

 

I know there is a lot of labour envolved but i may tackle it in the summer.

 

ill hunt for a write up.

 

someone suggested a capful of automatic transmission fluid may do the job, anyone tried that?

Bah! i doubt that will make much differnce - a full oil change usually does the trick!

Duff suggested that, not tried it myself.

Caution!!! LOL

 

Replacing the lifters isn't one of the easiest jobs you can do to your Zed. First off, all the cambelt etc must be removed. Then the plenum. Then the rocker covers. Then the cams.... More than a days work for your average mechanic never mind if you never did it before. You MUST have a good torque wrench to get the cam caps properly torqued down.

 

Just be carefull it could go horribly wrong.....

hell i've done an induction kit, im sure a top engine rebuild can't be that difficult ;)

 

how much is a tow truck from southend to duffland? :)

 

have you tried the oil trick, you know i have a squeaky tappet, do you think it will work? how long does it usually solve the problem for?

Bugger that then. ;) I'll just get some earplugs until the turbos go and it needs to be stripped anyway!
