I've got a large aftermarket tacho with shift light to fit to my Z to hed me no hit the limited when concentrating on the road ahead!

 

Where's the best place to wire it to, and what wires?

Best place is some where you can see it and not get in the way of the view of the road ;)

before i read that was going to fit it above the middle of the instrument cluster right in my line of sight ;)

 

actually goning to mount it in the middle above the vents, just need to know where/how to take the wires

I was going to say that the most popula place is on the dash right next to the aircon controls.

Take the feed straigt off the back of the clocks or from the ECU.

 

On the pic the Tach wire is I (as if you were looking from the wire side of the harness)
