They ****ud things up now and open the borders so you can go either side.

What do you mean? ****ed things up?

I have , don't think I would go back nice to see once I suppose.

Nearly killed myself in the Trudos (spelling) mountains as hired a dodgy jeep which was a little dangerous to say the least.

Depends on which direction you are facing.

Baggins :p :D

I would prefer not to talk about miserable people, because there are hidden chapters in history(1967-1974) that some people would not be comfortable to talk about.........

But to be fair there is just a little bit of history before that. Cyprus has been a crossroads in the Mediteranean for thousands of years and has been occupied by many of the major civilisations in that time. The Greek/Turkish thing is just fresh in many memories.

Well, thank you AndyP.Cos I'm really sick and tired listening to same things.

And it's not Greek/Turkish.....it's Cypriot/Turkish....Cyprus hasn't been a part of Greece FOR MANY MANY MANY years....

Plus, the Cypriots had the chance to become one country with Greece and they didn't like it......

Very true. However, for those that are refugies, the opening of the border has been a good thing because they have got to see their villages again.

I cant really speak for the day to day living but I know that as a majority, this is viewed as a step forward to gaining access to all of Cyprus again.

I might also add that this thread could become a bit sensitive so can I ask that the moderators pay extra careful attention please.

Then you haven't been to the right place. Not many z but Cyprus is the land of the civics. You can see any kind of mod on them. Many civics with 10s-11s quarter mile but i think we have the worlds fastest cossworth with 9,6s in the quarter mile. As for the z the most powerfull it's owned by my buddy but it's a hell of a z. It has spent more thab 30k on mods. The car produces around 550hp with hks 2530bb turbos but it can easily go far more than that by changing the turbos to td-0620g. All the internals have been changed with Je pistons and the rest are from Jun. But if you thing that the islands population is around 700000 then we have a lot of performace cars

Yes mate.

XTT - Have I said something to offend you mate? If I have then I do apologize, but what exactly are you sick and tired of? You've lost me.

No you haven't said something to offend me. Are greek/cypriot or turkish/cypriot. What i'm sick of is after 27years of piece talking where still at the begging. Opening the borders was a good chance for refugies to see their homeland but in the feture i think it will great problems like the past. Hate and losses will always remain their so sometimes is very dangerous

No mate, you didn't offend me.

But let's ne realistic. Nobody likes the fact that the Turks invaded and divided Cyprus, nobody likes the fact that the north part acts like a proper country in order to be recognised as one.

Me and you can't do nothing about it, it's all in the hands of the politicians. And the Turkish politicians are not very eager for resolving this matter.

PS. There are facts about the whole era before/during/after the invasion that are not really talked about anywhere. I studied the same history books you studied and they do not mention all the facts
