Strong smell of petrol when starting in cold mornings, anyone come accross this....

Tighten all the metal clips on the fuel lines. From memory you have to take the plastic cover off to get at all of them.

Yep - just get under the bonnet with a philips screw driver and tighten every hose clip you can see that is attached to the fuel pipes. You will need to remove the centre plastic cover to get to all of the pipes and some you will not be able to get to for love nor money, but most is better than none.

I had this a month or so ago and the stench was really bad but once I did all of the above - hey presto.

Just make sure the screw driver is thin and long. Should only take you 5 minutes or so

Tighten all metal clips, well if you lucky it could be that;)

Those crap rubber hoses perish over the years with all that heat,If winding the clips up don't solve it,replace the lot of them, not just the one that leaks;)

tbird may be referring to the smell of fuel once started...

I have the same smell, like the car is running rich (excess fuel/unburnt)..

Has anyone experieced this???

Cheers

Ben
