I'm new to the forum and have been reading through the past 2 months of discussions to brush up on my knowledge of the ZX. I have seen insurance mentioned a few times as people have recommended the cheapest companies to each other.

I wanted to recommend Lanaster Insurance. I am 21 with 4 years NCB. They have just insured me fully comp on a 1990 Jap import 300ZX 2+2 TT for £1050, They are good for imports as they don't charge any extra as long as there is a compariable UK model of the same year. Their number is 01480 484848.

Thought this might be of use to younger/

import 300ZX owners.

F%&^ me. I paid 1400 FC. 25, full no claims (now gone), 3 very minor points.... and I did shop around. 1050 for a 21 year old is v good. Whats the catch?

there is no catch, i really rate Lancaster. i have been with them for 2 years already. first on an Astra GTE then a Corrado G60, and they have always been cheap. They seem reputable as well (quick with all paperwork etc)

I have got clean record and no points though. I have asked them to add £50 for driving other cars benefit and £150 for protected NCB so the full cost is now £1250.

Their stance on imports could be of benefit to all you guys who own imports though?

I thought i'd pass this on so that i feel less cheeky when i want to ask technical advise when something goes bang with my new toy!

They offered you no-claims protection at 21! and I couldn't get any. DOH!!, I'll repeat that, DOH!!!, and finally to make my point, DOH!!!.

Fair play to you though. Don't be supprised if you receive offers from Z owners willing to have your children with information like that. TT Z, 21 Years old, tad over a thousand notes. There may be hope yet folks.

This means for all you old timers out there, they will be giving it away! LOL.

Thats f**ckin cheap, I must have phoned 60 insurance companies and independents last month, and got very little good response. I settled with £1550 fully comp at 21 with 2 years NCB from Privilledge.

Wow

I just signed up with Lancaster too. It was pretty close between them, Bell, and Admiral; in fact I almost went with Bell until they got cold feet and slapped on an extra £50 when I reminded them the car was imported.

Final damage: £740 fully comp & prot. no claims (26y/o, no black marks, full ncb). Thanks for the tip, Nick!
