Very little information there. Its a bit like going to the doctors and saying, I dont feel well, whats wrong with me?

What mods do you have? Is detonation occuring under acceleration? What gear are you in? When was the last cambelt change?

Stuart

yeah true sorry Stu!

well firstly it happens when u accelerate gently and ive can only really hear it around 60-70ish maybe more...

also the car is stock apart from a se chip, had an engine change 6mths ago, timing n all that done, plugs etc, thermostat..

All connectors have been thoroughly cleaned!

jus had an oil change last week..

lastly, its an auto...

hope that helps...

If its stock and you haven't upped the boost, I would check for air leaks, don't use normal unleaded, only optimax or super and when were the plugs last changed !!!

Check you timing as well as it could be too advanced.

If none of those, check inside your boost pipes going to the plenum, if its very oily that can cause det. and is either due to the rear seals on the turbos going or blocked breathers !!!

Olly.

How do you know the car is detting?. Is it an audiable sounds that you can listen for?.

Check your base ignition timing!!

My guess is it'll be advanced by 10 degrees or more too much ;-) This has happened to me and others for no apparent reason. Maybe CAS on its way out.
