Does anyone recondition standard zed gearknobs. Mine is starting to wear on the top where the number are.

my knob was very tatty ..fnarkk fnarkk the end was all frayed

phwooor .....it was rough to the touch .......whhhooooo

 

so i popped into motor world The new one in morecambe town center where one stop DIY shop is and fireplace world is and i bought a nice new leather covered one with a red metal insert

it looks very much like the standard design ...problem i had was

the gear gaiter was not long enough to cover the naked shaft

fnarrkk pwhoooar......simple remedy took off the old gaiter and used it as a template ( after un picking it ) to make a new one

modified the template to make it longer and hey perfecto cost around 22quid but looks far better

personally, I have a really cool Nismo chrome thingy, dead good looking, but a bit cold on a winter morning!

Bugger. I like the D&P... but me and the Z will be in a pub in Shepshed on the 6th, having the first of many Christmas meals!

 

(Mega miles on the Z that weekend, I'm doing Bolton -> Shepshed -> Dorking -> Poole -> Bolton! Don't ask.)

 

(More Zeds than Zetecs... I like it.)
