Just been quoted £100 and eight pence (plus vat) per side from Nissan for new front disks. Anybody got any suggestions re alternative supplier (cheaper). They are for my na. so not particularly interested in upgrading.

thanks

Some people here have used Silvia Engineering, some got good service some got bad, but they do OEM Nissan Discs for £98.95 each or EBC fronts for £79.95 each they can be contacted on 01621 858856 or Mike Feeney at MJP on 01277 374201 has been quite helpful. You will have to check that the discs are for an N/A as I'm not sure if they are different to turbo ones.

Hope this helps,

I got both discs for £120 from the Jap Centre in St.Helens - Merseyside - they can get anything much cheaper than Nissan and its usually OEM stuff as well - it just doesnt come in a Nissan box.....I've had them on for ages now and they look good to me!

I know that Front Calipers are different on the NA's not sure about discs, i doubt it as stock Nissan TT Disks are nothing Special, Have a look at SGP or Avalon from the states and get some aftermarket ones for better performance and price.

NA rotors are 4mm thinner according to the US guys. You should be able to get a good set of upgraded rotors for the same price as OEM, maybe even cheaper. I think OEM rotors are about $60 each from the US if you want to go that route. Probably the cheapest even with vat, duty and carriage costs.

I got mine from the US, but be prepaired to pay a good $150 for shipping (if you use UPS), they are heavy.

Remember to give them a proper heat-treating once fitted (unless hey come pre-done like mine!)

Thanks for the info. Just ordered 2 fronts from JRT automotive tel 01494 792211. If you tell him you got his number from his ad in practical classics he gives you an extra 25% off. EBC are £57.10 each and Brake Engineering are £42.28 each (inc vat).

...not bad compared to Nissan.
