Hello all,

Can someone please tell me what my standard boost guage should be reading on my standard (Import) 89 TT Auto as it is reading a little bit before the +7 and never reaches the +7 is this correct.

Also does anyone know how much it is at Nissan for them to do a ECU check just so I know if there are any errors etc.

Thanks for your help.

The ecu diagnostic is the easiest thing in the world to do! dont pay somebody else to do it for you, check this out -

also the boost sounds about same as mine...which i hope is right:rolleyes:

Standard boost is 9SPI but Jap imports work on a strange scale, like cm^3 or something.

Yeah thats right they work in cm3. I think the +7 is around 1 bar, just a bit under maybe 13psi.

Thanks for all your info, glad its not running on Emergency Boost. What mark on the boost guage would it be if it was on Emergency??

I looked up that article on the ECU I might give it a go but still seems to puzzle me.

Thanks again

yeah you might be right but cant remember tbh. You will know if its in safety boost as it feels flat and sh*t! The ecu check is VERY easy to do, all you do is turn the screw one way then the other...not rocket science:D now try the auto-box one if you want complicated..............

Thanks,

It seems simple enough but I am just paranoid about breaking something, I know how tempremental these 300's are.

I'll give it a bash at the weekend.

Cheers

nah its impossible to break that, just lift up the carpet and turn the screw...easy stuff:)

Ant,

There are 2 ways of doing it - by the ecu - http://www.ttzd.com/tech/diagnostictech.html or the easiest way at the diagnostic port - http://www.twinturbo.net/ttnetfaq/FAQpages/ECUdiagnostics.html

The boost gauges tend to be crap on the 300's, mine reads 12 psi when I'm in safety boost. To get an accurate reading, think about getting an aftermarket gauge :)

Vijay

i've got a 1990 T/T jap import and my boost meter hits max when i floor it, m,aybe

sorry, as i was saying .. maybe wild variances in stock gagues

thanks for all your help people.

Can I use a normal boost guage like the one I put into my MR2 Turbo or does it have to be a special one like everything else on the 300??

Easy to fit??

Cheers

They are tougher than you think. Come on, it's a NISSAN :)
